Mr. Scarlato's background includes ASE Master Engine Machinist, GM Master Craftsman Certification, Refrigerant Recycling Certification, GM Advanced Electrical Technician Certification, Associate degree in Automotive Engineering, Maryland State SPC II Professional Teaching Certification, Automotive Technologies Program, Coordinator for Hartford Community College, Instructor for Hartford Community College Automotive Program, Developer of National Curriculum for Department of Labor Small Engine Program, and 17 years full time teaching experience.
The course has the following requirements:
Two semester program. Uniforms required. Heavy emphasis on mathematics and research involved in the technology application of Auto Technology. Students need to be serious about being involved in professional automotive training. Tools issued on daily basis. (Cooperative tool purchase program opportunities available, job site training opportunities). Shadow and cooperative education opportunities available. The course requires a student to possess the following:
Strong math and science aptitudes required. Mechanical aptitude and spatial perceptions need to be strong. Field independent focus is a strongly desired trait also.
