Maryland Governor Martin O’Malley and Lieutenant Governor Anthony Brown visited CCST on August 27, 2009. As part of the Governor’s “Capital for a Day” program, Governor O’Malley and Lt. Governor Brown were in Cecil County for a Cabinet Meeting. After the meeting, they both came to the school for lunch and to visit classrooms. The Culinary Arts students, working with T & M Catering, prepared and served the Governor and Lt. Governor their meals. The Natural Resources students created the flower arrangements that were used on the tables. Each class had a student representative who ate lunch with the Governor and Lt. Governor. After lunch, the Governor and Lt. Governor addressed the students with brief remarks. After his remarks, Governor O’Malley opened the floor for questions from the students. When this session was finished, the Governor and members of his Cabinet visited many of the classrooms. The Governor concluded his visit by touring the student-built house that is being sold. |
